One positive that came from COVID is how accessible our favourite dinners, produce, and homewares have become to us, giving us the chance to enjoy from the comfort of our homes. And while many businesses continue to do it tough, it’s the least we can do to show them some love through shopping online and keeping weekly Friday night dinner traditions alive through these weird times. These local businesses all offer their products for home delivery: all you need to do is browse online, and wait by the door.

The Farm Shop

'Keep your farmers close’: you can score a hamper of fresh, locally sourced fruit and veggies delivered the very next day. The online store connects you with South East Queensland growers and allows you to skip the supermarket rush and stock up on quality ingredients.

Proof BBQ & Booze

It’s Americana BBQ that can be enjoyed on the couch or in the backyard. Proof BBQ’s entire menu of mains and craft beers is available for delivery; grab some succulent pulled pork or beef brisket that’s been cooked on-site in Dolly the smoker to pair with your brew, and that’s dinner sorted. Just order through the Bopple app.

Urth Café & Co

Got a hankering for an eggs benny? Look no further than Urth’s all-day breakfast menu that’s packed with all of your favourites, such as avo smash and savoury mince, plus an entire lunch menu. There’s a minimum spend of $15, but that just means you’ve got an excuse to grab coffee too!

iCooked

While there are plenty of restaurants offering fresh meals, there’s also the option to grab some homecooked meals and stock up your freezer for those can’t-be-bothered nights. Amy and the team at iCooked prepare healthy and filling classics such as lasagne, butter chicken, and pasta bake which can be ordered to serve just you, or a family of four. They deliver every Thursday.

HappyToo

Homegrown local business HappyToo has taken on the big dogs in the game to remain one of the city’s go-to food delivery services. They deliver to Toowoomba and surrounds (up to 13km) and connect hungry people at home with dishes from some of their favourite restaurants, such as Sofra Turkish Cuisine, Gelatissimo, The Irish, and Piccolo Papa. Simply download the app on your phone, and pick what tickles your fancy.

Westridge Meats

No need to forage the empty supermarket shelves; quality meats can come to you. Their range is locally produced – with lamb from Warwick, pork from Clifton and beef from Killarney, you can feel good knowing you’re not only getting great meat, but also supporting regional Queensland farmers. Order a value pack and start meal prepping dinners for the week.

Ruby Lane Flower Co

Ruby Lane stands out for its same-day flower delivery service – simply order before 12.00pm and receive that ‘whoops forgot my mum’s birthday’ bunch before 6.00pm. Each arrangement is unique, hailing from owner Emily’s love for the wild and natural, with each morning the florist offering a surprise posy of the day.

Metiisto Artisan Chocolate

Okay, this one’s a bit dangerous… but how can we resist? Born in Sweden but bred in Australia, Toowoomba's very own craft chocolate factory has been making internationally award-winning confectionary since owners Trevor and Magda set up shop in Harristown in 2012. You can order their artisan bean-to-bar artisan chocolate directly to your door – follow your stomach and choose from raspberry and licorice, 100% dark or mocha (just to name a few) and they’ll have it to you just in time to soothe those cravings. Delivery is free to Toowoomba residents!

The Book Tree

With $3 delivery to any 4350 postcode address and their complete catalogue of books available to browse online, book buying has never been easier. Have a scroll through their thousands of classic and new release titles, or give well-read owner Ann a call and ask for some of her personal recommendations.

Deli Delicious

For over 15 years, Deli Delicious has offered gourmet meats, cheeses and charcuterie staples in-store alongside their cafe menu, but did you know you can order their goodies for delivery too? Pick out your favourites, or select one of their gourmet charcuterie boxes, packed to the brim with cheeses, nuts, dips, and crackers, ready for a Friday wine night in with friends.

Have we missed your favourite? Let us know and we’ll add them to the list!
