Goodbye 2024, Hello 2025: What's On this New Year's Eve

We’ve got your New Year’s plans sorted, from fireworks to dress-up parties.

TFG Team

2024 was a huge year for everyone, us included. We launched the first (of many) Field Guide events with our ‘Toast’ Art Prize, and raised the stakes on our quarterly printed newspaper that champions local voices through talented contributors. We saw a handful of new businesses pop up – from Greek restuarant Loulaki to espresso bar Routine – and shared them with you. We highlighted local events happening in the region to help you plan the perfect weekend, no matter if you were a beers-on-the-deck or ballet at the theatre person. And we loved every second of it!

There’s only more to come in the new year, with more local goodness to share with you, more small businesses opening, and exciting TFG events like our upcoming $10,000.00 city-wide scavenger hunt.

As we bid farewell to 2024 and welcome a fresh chapter, these New Year’s Eve events will help you celebrate in style—whether you’re toasting to the year that was or dancing well into the morning!

CATCH THE FIREWORKS

Where: Frogs Hollow, corner Margaret and Hume Streets, and City Golf Club, 254 South Street
When: 8.15pm (Queens Park), 9.00pm and midnight (City Golf Club)

Fireworks are basically synonymous with New Years, and this year you can catch them at both Queens Park and the City Golf Club. Grab dinner from a local downtown restaurant, then pop over to the park with a picnic blanket and enjoy the show at 8pm. Or, enjoy dinner and drinks at the club before the 9.00pm and midnight fireworks shows.

BOOTSCOOT YOUR WAY INTO 2025

Where: Jondaryan Woolshed, 264 Jondaryan Evanslea Road
When: Roast dinner from 6.00pm, dancing from 8.00pm

Celebrate 2025 in true Aussie style—fun, music, and some bush shenanigans with the lively sounds of the Ridgee Didge Bush Band at the historic Jondaryan Woolshed. Enjoy a night of family-friendly fun and dancing from 8.00pm to midnight. Indulge in a tea and damper supper, keep refreshed at the licensed bar, and if you’re feeling peckish beforehand, opt for the optional roast dinner and dessert, served from 6.00pm to 7.30pm (pre-book with your tickets).

ABBA Party

Where: Rink 46, 46 Mort Street
When: From 8.00pm

Break out your flares, platform boots, and all things sequined—it’s time to channel your inner Dancing Queen. Rink 46 is throwing an ABBA-themed New Year’s Eve celebration, complete with an incredible tribute show to ring in 2025. Sing along to all the classics and dance the night away in pure disco glory. Don’t forget to dress the part—there’s no such thing as too much sparkle for this night!

BREWS, BEATS & GAMES

Where: Bone Idol Bar, 424 Ruthven Street.
When: From 4.00pm

Gather your crew and keep the fun rolling at Bone Idol’s New Year’s Eve Party, with an evening of friendly and free shuffleboard, pool, and darts. Sip on brews from Aether Brewing as they take over the taps, and groove to the live tunes of The Fibonacci Band.

ENJOY A COMMUNITY CARNIVAL

Where: McGregor Street Oval, Wilsonton
When: From 4.00pm

Hosted by Tony’s Community Kitchen, kick off your New Year’s at McGregor Street Oval, for a community carnival NYE that has it all — food vans, market stalls, live entertainment, and epic giveaways. The night wraps up with fireworks at 8.00pm, lighting up the sky in true festive style.

Wind down with a wine

Where: Cork & Lever, 185 Margaret Street.
When: 6.00-9.00pm

Get cosy at boutique wine, tapas and cocktail bar Cork & Lever. Pull up a stool that overlooks the street for some people-watching or settle at a table with your friends and reminisce on the year. Kick on if you want, but we won’t judge if you call it a night at that.

SADDLE UP FOR NEW YEAR'S EVE

Where: Warwick Showgrounds
When: From 5.30pm

The Warwick New Year’s Eve Rodeo is back for a night of family-friendly fun! Watch the rodeo action kick off at 5.30pm, keep the kids entertained with free jumping castles and face painting until 9.00pm, and don’t miss the fireworks at 8.30pm. Stick around for live entertainment late into the night and ring in the new year country-style!

Bring Back The 80s

Where: Murphys Creek Tavern
When: From 6.00pm

Goodbye 2021, hello 1981! Go back in time... where the hair was big and the tunes were even bigger. There’ll be 80s tunes blasting all night and prizes for best dressed on offer. Think big hair, bright colours, and iconic throwback styles—channel your inner Michael, Madonna, or Wham! It’s a New Year’s Eve party that’ll have you “Dancing All Night Long!”

SIP IN STYLE ON THE ROOFTOP

Where: George Banks Bar and Bistro rooftop, 206 Margaret Street
When: from 5.00pm

Celebrate with an evening of cocktails, tap beers, wine, & their regular menu and watch the Queens Park fireworks (and the revellers below) from high above.

SPARKLE OR TROPICAL VIBES? YOU CHOOSE.

Where: Fitzy’s, 153 Margaret Street | Tatts Hotel, 80 Margaret Street

At Fitzy’s, it’s all about the glitz and glam. Start with dinner from 6pm, then hit the dance floors with DJ Zachy Clarkson and live band Second Gear. With a lively countdown, and plenty of mirror-ball sparkle, Fitzy’s promises a night of non-stop music and fun.

Over at Tatts Hotel, say Aloha 2025 with tropical vibes and live music from Kings of Cali, alongside DJs spinning tunes all night. Sip on their exclusive Strawberry or Pineapple Cocktails and enjoy the midnight countdown surrounded by festive island-inspired fun.

FUNK INTO 2025
