Whether it’s your mother or daughter, sister or spouse, coworker or friend, International Women’s Day is all about taking the time to celebrate your favourite women and honour their successes. Make time to gather around the table and celebrate the important women in your life on International Women’s Day – Tuesday, 8 March – but there are also events scattered throughout the month for you to enjoy together too.

Protea Place Luncheon

Where: Fitzy’s, 53 Margaret Street
When: Tuesday, 8 March, 11.00am - 3.00pm

Protea Place has supported thousands of local women in need since its launch in 2018, by giving access to accommodation, counselling, employment, and legal aid. To continue to support women in our community, they’re holding a fundraising luncheon where you’ll hear real stories from real women. Enjoy a delicious three-course meal and two-hour drinks package and hear from inspirational guest speakers Dr Lauren Humby (Criminologist, USQ), Alison Kennedy (CEO, Toowoomba Hospital Foundation) and Melissa Keogh-Lancaster. Tickets to this event are $195 per person.

The Belle Evolution Networking Dinner

Where: 86/86-88 Water Street, South Toowoomba
When: Thursday, 24 March, 6.00pm-9.30pm

The Belle Evolution is all about businesswomen joining together for purposeful and fun conversation. On this engaging night, there’ll be a panel of incredible businesswomen telling their stories, plus giveaways and plenty to eat and drink. The Belle Evolution events aim to provide a space for new and established businesswomen to connect, collaborate and grow.

Zonta Club of Toowoomba Area Inc. Luncheon

Where: Picnic Point Restaurant, 164 Tourist Road, East Toowoomba
When: Friday, 4 March, 11.00am-2.00pm

The theme for this luncheon is ‘dare to fail - where success begins’. Keynote speaker Clare Stewart, Mayor of Noosa, is an inspiring and dynamic person who will speak to the topic and share the experiences of her career as well as a traumatic incident that changed her life and taught her resilience. The event will raise essential funds for Eva’s Place, a not-for-profit dedicated to supporting women during pregnancy and parenthood. They’ll also be presenting the tenth Zonta Woman of the Year Award, which acknowledges a woman in the region who is making a significant contribution to enhancing our community. Book a ticket and enjoy a delicious two-course meal and glass of bubbles on arrival, as well as the chance to win fabulous raffle prizes.
