The Source Bulk Foods
Having started as a single shop in Byron Bay, The Source has become Australia’s largest zero-waste retailer. The philosophy is simple: The Source makes unpackaged food easy to access. Bring the containers and jars you already have, and the friendly staff will tare off the weight. Take and pay for only as much as you need, and see how easy it is to ditch excessive packaging. (The store also supplies brown paper bags, in case you forget to BYO.)
From flour and lentils to spices and teas to honey and kombucha to shampoo and conditioner, The Source has your pantry needs sorted. Many of the products are also vegan, gluten-free and/or natural.
The Source has done a great job of taking the zero-waste movement from ‘hippie’ to completely normalised, and we’re proud to have them in Toowoomba. Keep an eye out for their regular cooking workshops and events, because we’ll see you there.
