Unwind from your week with some me delicious time.
Inspired by the cooling/freezing weather, we road-tested the perfect at-home spa night. Full of goodies you can find locally, and perhaps one too many cocktails, we can officially attest to the fact that now is the right time to plan a night in. Thanks to some of our friends at TFG, we rounded up some ideas to help you make the most of staying-in weather.
Whether your ideal treat yo’self moment includes a cup of tea or something stronger (or both), here are some non-negotiables for optimal relaxation:
First, light a beautiful scented candle and put on your favourite music – recent favourites include this and this playlist. Crank it up (or off entirely, if silence is your luxury – we’re looking at you, parents!).
Now, pour yourself a drink – gin or tea, it’s totally up to you. If the former, we recommend mixing up a classic Aviation with gin, crème de violette and a maraschino cherry (yes, it’s just as delicious as it sounds). And if the latter, we recommend something calming and delicious, such as this Sweet Dreams blend.
Run a bubble bath, or even just have a deliciously hot shower. Essential oils are, well, essential here. Follow with a good coating of body oil to lock in that moisture. We’ve been loving Body Glow (below), which gives you a slightly bronze glow while hydrating your skin.
Wrap yourself up in the most ridiculously cosy robe and slippers.
Make another pot of tea, locate your largest tea cup, and tuck yourself up with either some Netflix or a good book.
Cancel your plans for next Friday night too.
Thanks to our wonderful local friends who lent us their beautiful products for this shoot. This article does not contain advertising; what we didn’t borrow, we bought.
