For those perfect sunny days to take the dog and pop around the corner, we’ve rounded up some great neighbourhood cafés, nestled in a suburb near you.

There’s more great cafés downtown than we can count on both hands, but did you know you can find perfect coffee and breakfast all across town? Thanks to these neighbourhood cafés, you won’t have to find a park to enjoy your morning brew.
Sage+Butler
Where: corner Margaret and Mary Streets, East Toowoomba
This neighbourhood café sits among tree-lined streets near Queens Park, and serves up specialty Single O coffee and a great breakfast menu. Take a seat outside (dogs welcome!) and enjoy a housemade eggs benny or lasagna, or grab a fresh wrap or pastry to go and wander around the park.

Burrow
Where: 117 Bridge Street, Mount Lofty
It’s a cosy cottage serving breakfast all day long. Step inside this colourful café (with murals by Katie Whyte) and be greeted by the friendly baristas before digging into some hearty burgers or light salads. They’ve also got vegan and vegetarian options, so no one in your crew goes hungry. Burrow’s sunny courtyard is the perfect spot for a weekend lunch with friends.

The Finch on The Range
Where: 2 Margaret Street, Rangeville
Open from breakfast and serving food all day through till dinner time, this café is the newest instalment to the popular Finch cafe in the city. But it’s more than just a café: come night time, this venue turns into a pizzeria with fifteen different combos on the menu. And just like the original Finch, you’ll find great quality coffee here and all-day breakfast - just take a seat and enjoy the serenity of the large garden space.

95 Mary Street
Where: 95 Mary Street, East Toowoomba – of course!
This boutique coffee shop owned by Simon and Renee serves up delicate desserts - think a rainbow of macarons - and light meals such as their beetroot-cured salmon. You’ll also find a range of delicate home and kitchenwares on sale here too, which champion local artists, as well as floral displays from the always-impressive Ruby Lane Flower Co.

Urban Grounds
Where: 210 Herries Street, City (-ish)
Cosy up next to the fireplace in winter, or lounge on the sundeck overlooking Laurel Bank Park in the warmer months at this spacious home-turned-restaurant. They’re open from brekky to dinner, so you’re covered for those coffee and cake cravings all day, every day.

Where: 111 Campbell Street, East Toowoomba
It’s a homewares store that doubles as a café. Once you’ve finished browsing their gorgeous range of handmade artworks, jewellery, and gifts, treat yourself to a fresh brew made with love - because after all, shopping can be exhausting, and you’ve earned it.

The Baker’s Duck
Where: 124 Campbell Street, East Toowoomba
Famous for their delectable sweet and savoury pastries made from scratch, these bakers are always experimenting with new and exciting flavour combinations, such as a Golden Gaytime or piña colada croissant (yes, really!). Take a seat out front, or grab your pastry t0-go for an easy-peasy picnic.

Where: 87 West Street, Mort Estate
It’s the flavours of Paris, served right here in Toowoomba. Taste your way through sweet breakfasts and desserts inspired by the romantic city, with a banoffee tart, eclair or a raspberry friand. Wendland Fine Foods offers just that, with a great breakfast and lunch menu using local produce and ingredients. Make the most of your visit and tick off that shopping list, by shopping their range of cheeses, pastas, and fresh bread loaves. They also offer a selection of takeaway meals, such as slow-cooked beef and vegetarian quiches, perfect for your lunch break or to simply dig into from the comfort of your home.

On a sunny street corner of tree-lined Newtown, you’ll find New Brew cafe. With an extensive brekky menu and pressed juices, fresh coffees and fruit smoothies to down your meal with, this spot makes for a perfect family outing spot. Take a seat outside and get your fix of people-watching, or grab a coffee to-go and stroll through the picturesque State Rose Garden across the road in Newtown Park. And with doors opening from 6.00am most days, you won’t need to look far for a morning pick-me-up.
