Myrtille Bistro recently named among Qld’s best

Myrtille Bistro promises a sophisticated European-style menu with locally-sourced produce.

Myrtille Bistro, Amanda Hinds’ much-anticipated follow-on from Emeraude, re-opened in Crows Nest earlier this year, and was recently named among Qld’s best restaurants in the Courier-Mail’s Delicious 100 annual list.

Operating on Thursday and Friday from 11:30pm (lunch and dinner), on Saturdays from 8.00am (breakfast through to dinner) and on Sundays from 8.00am (breakfast and lunch), the bistro offers a European-inspired menu with locally sourced produce.

The name is French for blueberry (pronounced mer-tee) and is also a nod to Myrtle, the ghost of the century-old Nolan's Block. The Nolan's Block was previously home to Salt's Antiques, but has been renovated by three couples – including Amanda and her husband Larry.

It was a long 20 month journey from Emeraude closing in Hampton through to a pop-up at Bunnyconnellen – with private functions, consultation work and tourism gigs in between. The restaurant reopened earlier this year, and was an enormous labour of love, from the purchase of the Nolan’s Block, a loving restoration of the 1906 building, and finally, the launch of two hospitality businesses.

Myrtille Bistro is the restaurant and speakeasy-style bar, while My Little Blueberry is a patisserie and café next door, offering pastries, cakes, chocolate and coffee. The new precinct also includes High Country Collective, a homewares and gift store, and The Potager At Nolans, offering everything you need for your garden.
