We heard you loud and clear: I need more time to plan my weekend! And with that, welcome to The Field Guide’s guide covering what’s happening in the month of March, so you’ve got time to lock in plans well in advance.

The LADYKILLERs: 01 & 02 February

A classic black comedy that is sure to leave you in stitches. The story follows Mrs Wilberforce, a sweet little old lady who rents out a room in her lopsided house to Marcus, a professor of music. Unbeknownst to her, Marcus is actually a maniacal criminal who is putting together a gang of misfits to commit the heist of their careers. So, with the gang posing as musicians and 'rehearsing' at Mrs Wilberforce's house... is she in danger?

Queensland Ballet: 01 March

From an emotive story of love to a collage of tutus and Tchaikovsky music, to one of the most celebrated excerpts in the ballet world, this production features rich stories that will captivate lovers of music and dance. The piece is a collage of influences and a mix of renowned music; familiar and yet, perhaps not.

Sportsman's Dinner with Chaz Mostert: 01 March

This is your chance to catch Supercar Champion and 2-time Bathurst 1000 winner Chaz Mostert as he talks all things motor racing and beyond. He’ll be at Clifford Park Racecourse less than a week after racing at Bathurst and we’ll find out what makes “Mozzie” tick when he sits down with Triple M’s Lee Faulkner at this very special event on Friday March 1st from 6pm.

GIN SANITY: 02 March

Get ready to immerse yourself in the botanical wonders of ‘Gin Sanity’ as George Banks celebrates all things Gin at this all day festival (02/03) and exclusive garden party (03/03).

LIFELINE BOOKFEST 2024: 02 & 03 March

Now in its 44th year, the charity book sale is looking to be bigger than ever with thousands of titles up for grabs and all for a good cause

PEAK2PARK: 03 March

The annual Peak2Park fun run/walk attracts thousands of particpants as it seeks to encourage participants to exercise while also raising funds for local charities.

Garden City Open 2024: 03 March

The 2024 Garden City Disk Golf open returns for another year of competiton across all skill levels; a word of warning though, this course is not for the faint hearted.

SCRIBBLESESH: 03 March

Join in at ScribbleSesh, a chill eve of costumed Life Drawing. Have a sip, bring a pen, enjoy life drawing with a couple of twists. Featuring a new art model every session, share the love of art making with bespoke beer.

MEATSTOCK: 08 - 10 MARCH

The infamous barbecue festival, Meatstock, is stampeding its way once again into Toowoomba Showgrounds. The now three-day festival is gearing up to give you the best instalment yet, providing an oasis of camping, food, activities, and music for barbecue and country aficionados.

RED HOT SUMMER TOUR: 09 March

FLICKERFEST: 09 March

FLiCKERFEST is Australia’s leading Academy® Award accredited and BAFTA recognised Short Film Festival, and the country’s largest Australian & International short film competition, screening the best of shorts from Australia, hand-picked from 3,500 entries.

LOW & SLOW BBQ MASTERCLASS: 09 March

Designed to teach the fundamentals of operating and managing different smokers and grills, here to show you that anyone can BBQ. Cover techniques such as grilling, smoking, reverse searing, brining, pickling and trimming with selection of proteins and sides. How to set up different style of smokers and grills for grilling, roasting and smoking with briquets, charcoal & gas.

An evening With the Owls: 09 March

An evening at Awassi Cheesery:

“The night starts with Cheeseboards and Awassi lamb burgers and as the lights go down the Owls to take centre stage, the team teaching about these amazing creatures, as the Owl’s showcase their individual prowess and attendees get the opportunity to be up close and personal to these majestic birds. The evening finishes with an Awassi Ice Cream.

WINDBOURNE (USA): 10 March

Windborne (USA) has been hailed by Songlines Magazine as 'The most exciting vocal group in a generation' and will be joined by celebrated harpist Christina Tourin (USA), founder of International Harp Therapy Program. Windborne's music draws on the singers’ deep roots in traditions of vocal harmony, while the absolute uniqueness of their artistic approach brings old songs into the present. Known for the innovation of their arrangements, their harmonies are bold and anything but predictable.

CINDERELLA: 15,16,17,21,22,23 March

Rogers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella: It’s the tale you love and think you know… with a hilariously ever after! A contemporary romantic comedy adaptation of the classic musical featuring new characters, a hilarious libretto, surprising twists, and an unforgettable score.

St PATRICK’s DAY: 15 March

Fitzy's, The Irish & Bodega are all holding St Patrick’s Day celebrations, full of live music, guiness, giveaways and of course, plenty of craic. Fitzy’s and the Irish are all day affairs, whilst Bodega’s shenanigans kick off at 6pm.

SUNSET YOGA IN THE LAVENDER: 19 March

Enjoy a beautiful grounding Yoga flow in amongst the Lavender. A treat for all of your senses. 

ECLIPSE LUNA LIGHT JOURNEY: 13 March

A magical and award-winning LUNA Light Journey debuts in the iconic Queens Park. Journey through an enchanting spectacle of light and sound in the heart of the Botanic Gardens. Explore unforgettable and striking installations, including dazzling laser effects, light sculptures, interactive projections, and magical holograms. These multiple artistic displays, lush soundscapes, and digital art experiences are sure to wow the senses as you follow the gorgeous walking paths through the gardens.

2024 grammer art show: 23 - 24 March

The Grammar Art show continues to be recognised as one of Toowoomba's signature events, attracting over 3500 people. It is the major fundraiser of the Toowoomba Grammar School P and F with the monies raised distributed between a number of projects to benefit students at TGS as well as supporting local charities. 

MADE tO LIVE GALA: 23 March

Experience an evening of fine food, entertainment and guest speakers at the 2024 Eva’s Place Gala Dinner; exploring the idea that we are all ‘Made to Live’.

THE SMEDS & THE SMOOS LIVE: 26 March

Music, laughs and interplanetary adventures for everyone aged three and up, from the team that brought you The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom live on stage. Adapted from the picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

eASTER EGG HUNT IN THE LAVENDER: 30 March
