We know, we know—Carnival isn’t even over yet! So maybe it feels a bit early to talk about the next big event…

But for those embracing the festival vibes as much as we are this year, or if you're on the lookout for a spring getaway packed with live music and a laid-back country vibe, consider this your heads-up: Big Skies Festival is just around the corner.

Running from October 3-7 at the stunning Jimbour House, the lineup is already shaping up to be incredible (and hitting way above it’s weight given its regional nature - it always does though).

Kick off your weekend on Saturday with country music’s finest—Brad Cox, Kaylee Bell, and Mick Lindsay—guaranteed to get you moving with some seriously good times. On Sunday, get ready for a rock-fueled night with legends like The Screaming Jets, Killing Heidi (cue the teenage nostalgia!), and Deborah Conway lighting up the stars.

Keen to make it a full weekend escape? there are plenty of camping and glamping options available onsite to unwind by the bonfire after a day of music, and enjoy local food vendors serving up the best of the region; with artisan markets onsite and plenty of space to kick back and take in the stars.

Oh, and for those in the mood to explore even more, the historic Jimbour House is a destination in itself. Stroll through the beautifully manicured gardens or join a guided tour of the homestead to soak in the rich heritage of the Western Downs.

At a time when music festivals are winding down all across the country, it’s even more important to remember the impact that events like Big Skies have supporting on their local rural communities. So book a ticket, enjoy great tunes, good eats, and breathtaking open skies!
