Applications are now open for the Toowoomba Busking Festival, a live and local initiative that’s helping put local artists on the map.

Held on Saturday, 29 April 2023, up-and-coming musicians will have the chance to show the judges and the public what they’re made of through some old-school busking: just them, their instruments, and the bustling city around them.

Featuring sets throughout the day as judges keep a keen eye on performers, selected contestants will be shortlisted to the main stage competition and event finals, and the chance to take home the $1,000.00 grand prize. There’ll be multiple other prizes on offer – including Judges’ Pick and People’s Choice – for those who wow the crowd with their tunes, as well as markets and ample family fun to be had. It’s also a great chance for those in the arts scene to network with fellow performers, live music venue owners, and music industry experts.

If you’re interested in sharing your voice with the community, you can apply now to busk at the festival here.

The festival, an initiative created by not-for-profit organisation Youth With A Mission, will be happening all day long, with an exciting singer or band to be found around every corner. Keep an eye on our calendar for a reminder!
