A local chocolate factory has continued to make a name for itself and its range of indulgent treats.

Metiisto, established locally in 2018, was celebrated at the prestigious Academy of Chocolate’s Golden Bean Awards in London, which judges connoisseurs from all over the globe on appearance, depth of aroma and flavour, and complexity.

The artisan chocolate company scored eight awards in total, including an impressive five gold medals for entries such as their gourmet raspberry and liquorice chocolate bar, and dark chocolate crafted from rich Solomon Island cocoa beans.

The company – which was humbly created by Trevor Smith in his Swedish home’s basement in 2012, before he returned to Australia – has found huge success in shipping bars across the world and collaborating with other local businesses to create unique and exciting flavours not found in supermarkets.

So, if you’d like to discover what award-winning chocolate tastes like (understandably), you can find Metiisto’s retail store at 538 Alderley Street in Harristown, or grab a bar from local stockists such as Sleepless City Roasters, Wendland Fine Foods, and Toowoomba Fresh (in Grand Central).
