The RME Downlands Art Exhibition is getting ready for their annual eight-day exhibition.
Each year the show attracts international, national and local artists, and offers viewers both contemporary and traditional artworks at all price points. There’s around 1,000 pieces on display, hand-selected by curator Evan Hollis. This year’s feature artist is Kathy Ellem, a Victorian realist painter known for her depictions of rural life.
The Gala Opening event on Friday, 17 September is when the exhibition is revealed and often when the best art pieces are snapped up. Tickets ($65) include access, finger food, entertainment and drinks. Opening event tickets also include entry throughout the eight days of the exhibition at no extra cost.
The exhibition will be open daily from 10.00am – 4.00pm, Saturday 18 through to Saturday 25 September 2021. Tea and coffee are available in the adjacent café.
