Are you the Next Big Thing?
Talk to Bec and Niki and you'll soon discover that The Toowoomba Gallery is extraordinarily proud of our not-so-little inland city (so much so that they even named their gallery after it!).
A visit to the gallery and you'll often hear them spruiking their love for the region and all the best and brightest aspects of Toowoomba with anyone prepared to listen.
It was this love and their passion for art that, in 2023, prompted the creation of their very own Art Prize, 'The Next Big Thing? (TNBT)', a $5,000 art prize that saw an influx of entrants and highlighted Toowoomba's already incredible art scene on the national stage.
Now about to head into its second year, TNBT has plans to be even more than before. Continuing its' not-so-subtle play on their love for all that is shiny and new, TNBT is looking for artists whose stars are on the rise.
They are also looking to share all the exciting developments in our fair city with potential visitors and residents, as well as put a spotlight on the magic that is Toowoomba.
Applications are open until 31 January 2024.
