BIG SKIES FESTIVAL

28 September - 02 October

The award winning Big Skies Festival is back in 2023, with a star-studded line-up of iconic artists. Four days of live music on the main stage, experience regional bus tours, the long lunch or sunset dinner, chill out at happy hour at the hangar, sit by the fire at the camp kitchen or take a tour inside Jimbour House.

ABERFELDY STELLA SUNDAY SESH

01 October

It's going to be bigger than Ben Hur - It’s a long weekend and the Stella Sunday Sesh will start at 3pm and finish when the NRL Grand Final wraps up on the Big Screen on the Lawn. Come to the Markets and stay for the footy. The food will stay for the Footy so it will be a fantastic arv and evening! Gold Coin for the Markets and $10 for the footy.

NEON DESERT PARTY @ BODEGA

CAMERATA: ORAVA QUARTET

06 October

Featuring one of the all-time favourite works for string quartet, Borodin’s lush and romantic String Quartet No. 2 is instantly recognisable for its swoon-worthy Nocturne, written as a likely anniversary gift from the composer to his wife. Schulhoff’s experimental and rhythmic Five Pieces for String Quartet, loosely inspired by the music of 1920s dance halls, along with Peter Sculthorpe’s haunting and evocative Quartet No. 9.

CREEDENCE CLEARWATER COLLECTIVE

06 October

Come to a celebration of Creedence Clearwater Revival, as tribute band Creedence Clearwater Collective walk through the life and music of one of the world’s most iconic bands – from the songs they wrote, to the songs covered, to the songs they wrote for others.

From their album debut in 1968 to their last album in 1972, CCR was a juggernaut of phenomenal proportions, no other band has created such an impact in such a short time.

The Creedence Clearwater Collective brings to the stage a six piece band – with a guest saxophonist and a vocalist that emulates John Fogerty’s distinct vocals – to capture the unique CCR sound.

NEW BEGINNINGS | MENTAL HEALTH TWILIGHT GALA

SLEEPING BEAUTY

10 October

Following their 2022 performances of Swan Lake, the Royal Czech Ballet return to Australia with their presentation of the classic masterpiece, Sleeping Beauty. Sleeping Beauty follows the story of Princess Aurora. When the bad fairy Carabosse is not invited by the King to the Princess' christening, she casts a spell on the Princess that will mean she will die if pricked by a needle by age 16. The King tries to protect his daughter by banning all needles in the Kingdom, however Princess Aurora accidently pricks her finger on her sixteenth birthday, and falls into a magical slumber. One hundred years later, a handsome prince stumbles upon the Sleeping Beauty, Princess Aurora, where she is awoken from her sleep and finally witchcraft is defeated.

Travelling Film Festival

13 - 15 October

Travelling Film Festival returns for 2022, bringing with it some of the best selection of films straight from the 2022 Sydney Film Festival.

TOOWOOMBA'S INDEPENDENT CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL

14 October

Toowoomba’s annual Independent Craft Beer Festival hosted by Volcanic Brewing; breweries from all over SE Queensland so lots of beers to be tasted, live entertainment, food courtesy of Bluebird Kitchen & Smokehouse, & Volcanic Brewing & lots of fun to be had. The day is a fundraising event with the proceeds donated to Tony’s Community Kitchen.

HOPS AND HARMONY

15 October

Hops & Harmony is an opportunity for everyone to get together in a relaxed environment and sing your heart out! This is an event for the community to sing, have a drink and be social.
No previous experience required. You don’t need to be able to read music and there’s nothing to prepare. You’ll be taught the song, just come along and have fun!

PERMACULTURE TOOWOOMBA: HOME CHEESEMAKING

Warwick Rodeo

26 - 29 October

On the last full weekend of October every year, the nation’s top rodeo riders and the best broncs and bucking bulls gather for the Warwick Rodeo – known far and wide as “Australia’s Most Famous”. The riders and the bucking stock come together to try and prove the old saying wrong – “never the horse that couldn’t be rode, never the rider that couldn’t be throwed”.
