Lifeline Darling Downs and South West QLD are once again curating and hosting ‘Latte n Letters’ – their annual campaign to share stories about personal experiences with mental illness and mental wellness in the community.

There are 30 participating cafés with staff decked out in bright orange sunglasses to mark the occasion. Simply make a purchase and receive a letter from someone with a lived experience of mental illness telling their story.

The aim of the campaign is to ensure that someone can walk in your shoes, if merely for a moment, deepening the empathy and support within the community. The letters are contributed by Momentum Mental Health, Sunrise Way and the community.

The campaign will run from 11 – 17 October and the following cafés are participating:

  • Wendland Fine Foods (The Range & Bridge Street)

  • Impressions on Scott

  • The Finch

  • Copper Bench

  • Ground Up Espresso Bar

  • Phat Burgers

  • Park House Cafe

  • Ortem

  • Burrow Toowoomba

  • Deli Delicious

  • Spar Mackenzie Row

  • Two Birds' Cafe and Catering

  • Sage+Butler Neighbourhood Cafe

  • Encores Restaurant

  • Milk & Honey Espresso Bar

Each story provides you with an opportunity to see the world through a different lens, if merely for a moment. You can also #helushelpothers access free, confidential and local support by donating to Lifeline here.
