There is something genuinely magical about a real Christmas tree, and for those who prefer the natural beauty and aroma of a fresh fir for a truly hallmark experience, there's nothing quite like a real tree. And while there may not be too many places to pick up your Tannenbaum in Toowoomba, if a little bit of a drive doesn't 'ruffle' you, the ones that are available offer a festive adventure and a quality selection of treeswhether you're after a tall, majestic fir or a smaller, charming pine.

Our suggestion? Hitch up the station wagon, throw on your most festive playlist, and make a day of it with the promise of making memories and finding that perfect tree to lighten up your holiday season.

Local Nurseries: Firstly, it's worth checking with local nurseries, as they often stock Christmas trees during the festive season. Some great local options to try include Coroneos Nursery, The Springs Garden World, True Blue Garden Centre, Toowoomba Tree Farm and Bunnings. The great benefit of buying a potted tree, is you’ll have the option to re-plant it after Christmas or keep it potted and use it again next year.

Granite Belt Christmas Farm: Located in Applethorpe, this farm is a bit of a drive from Toowoomba but offers a unique experience. You can visit the farm from 30th November to 23rd December to choose and pick up your own tree. They also have a variety of Christmas decorations and festive activities, including Santa visits and feeding Santa's animals. For more information, check out their website. (Drive: 1 hr 45min)

Chrissy Trees 4 U: This Christmas tree farm near Kingaroy offers a variety of tree sizes and types, perfectly suited to the Queensland climate. They are open daily (except Mondays) from 9.000 am to 4.00 pm. They do offer delivery to a drop-off point in Toowoomba, however they do not offer home deliveries, and all trees are cut to order, so refunds are not available. You can find more here. (Drive: 1hr 50min)

The Little Christmas Co: Based in Kelvin Grove, they offer a range of Christmas trees that you can pick up or have delivered and installed for a fee. Post-Christmas, they also offer a tree disposal service. More details can be found on their website. (Drive: 1hr 40min)

When choosing a real Christmas tree, remember that they come in various sizes and can be trimmed to fit your space. Caring for your tree is crucial to keep it fresh; this includes regular watering and keeping it away from direct heat or light.
